Thursdays

Jim plays golf sometimes on Thursdays.  Actually he plays golf a lot of Thursdays.  Jean sits at her computer all day as usually.  I just played with my chicken and took a nap.

Another Nice Day

It has been a nice summer for a dog with a beautiful fur coat.  We have not had too many hot days.  I helped Jim outside all morning and it was very pleasant outside.

Working all day

Today I was outside with Jim all day.  In the morning Jim was washing the driveway.  I helped by keeping track of tennis balls.  I stepped on something and hurt my foot but it is better now.  In the afternoon Jim was putting black stuff on the driveway so I had to be tied.  He did not want my footprints in the driveway.  I didn't mind because is was a nice day and I was outside with Jim.

My day

Another regular day.  Jean worked in her office.  Jim cleaned house and worked in his office.  Not much work for me today.  That's okay.  I still get breakfast and dinner whether or not I do any work at all.

Charlie

Charlie came and brought Jen and John with him.  They were all on vacation.  Charlie went to the Goldsberry dog spa in Fredericktown.  He goes to the farm and has his own swimming pool.  Jen and John went west.  They are all home now.  The humans went mountain biking and kayaking.  Then they came home for dinner and they bottled beer.

Nap Time

I take lots of naps because I work very hard.  I help Jim and Jean around the house and yard.  I keep track of all the tennis balls.  I need my naps.

The Window

I like to look out the window in the kitchen.  It is right by my bed and it is just the right level for me to look out.  I see a lot of things out the window.  I see deer, turkey, the UPS driver, and anyone who drives up the driveway.  When Jim and Jean leave I watch them through my window.  I watch for them to come home too.

My chicken

When I was at Tiffany's house this weekly she let me play with her toys.  Then she let me take the chicken home with me.  I just love my new chicken.  I carry it around the house, I chew on it and I take a nap with it.  I love my toys.

Boring

I had a boring day.  Jim worked on photography all day.  I helped him water the garden then took a long nap.

Visiting Tiffany

Yesterday morning we got up early and had breakfast and packed our bags.  Here is what I packed:  my quilt, my bowls, some food and a tennis ball.  Jim and Jean have to pack many more things because for one humans have to wear clothes and they want fresh ones every day.  We rode in the car a long time then we pulled up to Tiffany's house.  Tiffany has a very nice house and Dale and Tammy live with her.  The first thing I did was water the bushes in the front yard.  Then we went into the house and I found Tiffany's toy box.  I really liked her duck.

The humans left for the afternoon.  They put a baby gate up and left me in the laundry room.  Tiffany had the whole rest of the house.  I cried a little then I took a nice nap.  I could easily jump over the baby gate but I was good and stayed in the laundry room.  I had my quilt and my water bowl and Tiffany's duck.  When the humans came home they fed me dinner.   We took a nice walk around the neighborhood then we hung out outside.

After careful inspection I came to the conclusion that Tiffany is a dog.  She is a very small dog.

Do you know what?  Tiffany gets a bed time snack after she goes outside to potty at night.  I got one at her house too.  I wonder if dogs all around the world get a bedtime snack and I am the only one who is staving.  I am going to start demanding a bedtime snack. I think it is a brilliant idea.

We spent the night at Tiffany's house.  Tiffany slept in her crate.  The humans slept in the bedrooms.  I slept on my quilt in the laundry room but they didn't put a gate up.  In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast - pancakes.  Dale threw the tennis ball for me over and over again.  I had such a fun weekend at Tiffany's house.  Tiffany let me keep her duck because she never plays with it.

Cool weather

The weather has been nice and cool.  I helped Jim on the deck all day.  Then I took Jim and Jean to the trail for a nice long hike.  It was a good day.

Fixing the Deck

Today I helped Jim all day.  He is fixing the deck.  He took out old boards that needed to be replaced and put in new boards.  This is very boring work because I watch him from the screen porch and we don't play ball.

Doggie Bags

Today Jim went out to lunch.  When humans go out to eat sometimes they have too much food.  They ask for a doggie bag to bring home the leftovers.  I am the doggie so the food should be for me, right?  You will never believe this.  They eat the food in the doggie bag and don't give it to me.

Busy Tuesday

I helped Jim outside all day.  Then I took Jim and Jean for a walk on the trial.  Then I watched the All Star Game and took a nap.  It was a busy day.

Little Humans

We had company this weekend.  The company included little humans:  Jake, Grace and Lexi.  Little humans are like big humans except for two important things:  first, little humans have a lot more energy than big humans; and second, little humans like to play more that big humans.  I really like little humans because they like to play with me and throw the ball.  Our favorite game was hide and seek.  They would throw my toy down the steps then they would hide.  I would get the toy then I would find them  Then we would do it over and over and over again.  I had so much fun playing with the little humans.  I hope they come back.

Playing with Children

I love playing with children because they do not get tired out as fast as adults.  Jake, Grace and Lexi spent another night and they love to play with me.  I had so much fun with them.

Hide and Seek

Jake, Grace and Lexi spent the night again.  I have had so much fun with them.  We play hide and seek.  First they take my toy and throw it.  Then when I am getting the toy they run and hide.  Then I find the toy and I find the kids.  Then we do it over and over and over again.  Those kids love to play hide and seek with me.  I like having company.  We also played ball outside.

My company

I have company.  Jean's sister Lynn is here with some of her kids:  Mallory, Jake, Grace and Lexi.  The good things about kids are that they really like throwing the ball for me.  I let them take turns throwing the ball for me.  Those kids are wearing me out.  I also share my toys with them.   They slept in the basement last night.  Jean and Jim had me sleep in their room.  I would have liked to sleep in the basement with them but I like sleeping in Jim and Jean's room too.

My squeaky ice cream cone

I have a squeaky ice cream cone.  TJ and Pat gave it to me and I just love it!  It has been up high on a shelf for a long time.  Today Jean got it down and put it in my toy box.  I found it right away and played with it for a long time.  It has a wonderful sound.

a squeak

Finally we had a night with no fireworks and no thunderstorms.  I slept in Jim and Jean's closet just in case a storm came up.  You just never know when it will thunder.

I love my squeaky toys.  My favorite red toy does not squeak any more.  Maybe I chewed a small hole in it. I heard a squeaky sound coming from Jean's office.  I ran in because I was so excited that maybe Jean found another squeaky toy.  It was just Jean playing her violin.  That is one squeaky sounding instrument.

Helping Jim Paint

Today I helped Jim outside all morning.  He was painting the trim on the deck.  This is hard work.  I kept track of my tennis balls.

More scary noises

After a whole weekend of fireworks I thought we were going to have a nice quiet evening.  No such luck.  We had thunderstorms.  Thunderstorms make me very nervous.  Sometimes I hide a safe place but usually I like to be near Jim and Jean with a toy to comfort me.

My Sunday

This morning Jean went for a run while Jim and I mowed the grass.  Tonight I could hear more fireworks.  Last night I slept on the floor right next to Jean's side of the bed.  I do not like fireworks at all.  I will be happy when the fireworks are all done.

More fireworks

Last night I slept in the hall right outside Jim and Jean's room.  It was a scary night with all the fireworks.  The fireworks did end but I still wanted to be close to my humans.  Today Jim and Jean took me for a walk in the neighborhood.  I saw my friends Maddie and Sammie.  Jean played some ball with me then Jim and Jean went to the Cardinals baseball game.  I watch the Cardinals on TV all the time.  I am quite a fan but I am not allowed to go watch them play at the stadium.  I had a late dinner because Jim and Jean got home after my dinner time.  Then I could hear more fireworks.  I know where I am going to sleep tonight.

The worst holiday

Today is the fourth of July.  It is the worst holiday ever.  There are loud, loud booms.  I do not like fireworks at all.  Jean took me for a walk in the afternoon which was fine because it was quiet.  But in the evening the fireworks started.  I had to hide behind the couch.  The only good thing about the day was that Jim and Jean had pork steaks and I got a bone.

Good Day for a Walk

Today Jim and Jean took me for a nice walk on the trail.  I was a nice day - not too hot.  There are many good smells on the trail.

My toys

I love my toys.  I like to always have a toy near by.  I like to take a nap with a toy.  I love my red toy because it still squeaks.  I have a couple of other squeaky toys but Jim and Jean put them away because they are too noisy.  My red toy still squeaks and I am allowed to squeak it all I want.

Brewing Beer

Today Charlie came over and brought Jen and John.  We brewed beer.  As you can see I was a big help.
