Anniversaries

I have been living with Jim and Jean one year.  Last summer I lived in Idaho with TJ and Pat.  In August we packed up the car and came to Missouri.  TJ and Pat left me here and went to work far away.  They come back to visit me sometimes.  The even take me on vacation with them.  However, they bring me back to Jim and Jean's and go back to work.  I like it here.  I get breakfast and dinner everyday.  I also get a snack at lunchtime.  Sometimes I get real meat.  They play ball and frisbee with me and take very good care of me.  I have a good life in Missouri.

Going to the vet

My ear has been feeling better but Jean decided I need to go to the vet just in case.  My regular vet was out until Tuesday so she took me to the vet at PetSmart.  This is because she had a coupon.  Jean likes coupons.  I was tired of Jim and Jean cleaning my ears and I was not too happy about some strange woman messing with my ear.  She was very nice and told me I was beautiful and petted me but I still didn't like her sticking things in my ear.  She gave me treats and some medicine.  I have a yeast infection in my ear.  The medicine will make it all better.  I don't much like having medicine put in my ear but they make me do it.

My right ear

My ear is feeling better today.  Jim has been cleaning it with earwash.  I don't like having my ears cleaned but I tolerate it then I get a cookie for being a good boy.  I like to walk around the house with a toy in my mouth.  I love my toys.

Jim noticed that I have been scratching my ear a lot.  He looked inside and it looked kind of red.  He went to the store and bought special ear wash.  I don't much like to have my ears washed but I let him do it.  If it's not better tomorrow I have to go to the vet.

company

Jean's mom came to go to quilt club with Jean.  She threw the tennis ball for me outside.  I shared my toys but Jean told her the rule about no throwing toys in the house.  She is very good about following rules.

Another Hot Day

Today was another hot day. I spent most of the day in the air conditioning. I have a beautiful fur coat which is too hot to be outside running around. After dinner Jim and Jean took me to the trail for a walk.

It's Summer Again

It is summer again. I liked the cooler weather. It reminded me of summer in Idaho. It has been pretty hot this week. Jim and Jean don't take me for runs when it is hot. They go run in the heat then come back hot and sweaty while I get to hang out in the air conditioning. I still like to chase the tennis ball. I always like to play ball while the

Going visiting

This morning Jean took me for a long walk on the trail.  We walked to the river and I got to take a swim becuase it was pretty warm out.

In the afternoon we went visiting.  We went to visit Emily and Rachel.  Emily and Rachel used to live across the street from Jim and Jean's old house.  They moved to the country where they have two horses and a vineyard.  Well their dad had the vineyard.  Jim went to look at the vineyard.  I helped.

Next Rachel threw a stick for me.  Rachel loves dogs and she loves me.  For some reason her dad won't let her have a dog.  I love Rachel.  She even wears Chacos like TJ and Pat.

Then we all sat on the porch.  I had a bowl of water while Jim and Jean and Tony drank wine.  Emily and Rachel had water too but they drink from cups instead of a bowl.

Home alone

Today Jim and Jean left me home alone all day.  Jean usually works at home and Jim is home a lot.  I am not home alone very long or very often.  Today they went for a kayak trip.  I did not get to go because I don't fit in the kayaks.  I was home alone all day.  I was so happy when they got home I ran around in circles and wagged my butt.  I was too excited to eat my dinner right away.  They threw the tennis ball for me so I was happy.

A regular day

It was a regular day.  It's been hot so we haven't played outside a lot but we did play a little tennis ball.  I helped Jean in her office.  I helped feed the fish.  I helped Jim in the vineyard.  I am very helpful.

Helping Outside

I like to help outside in the vineyard.  Jim wants me to herd the deer but I don't TJ and Pat would be happy with that.  Jim can herd the deer himself.  I like to watch him and keep track of my tennis balls.

Walking in the neighborhood

Tonight we took a walk in the neighborhood.  I saw my friends.  First we walk by Maddie's house.  Maddie is just a puppy but she is a Great Dane so she is very big.  But she is a gentle giant.  She is always happy to see me.  Then we went to my friend Sammie's house.  I get to run around Sammie's yard and play with her.  When I get tired I like to lay down in her garage.  We also saw a little pomeranian but it was yippy so I didn't play with it.  We had a nice walk.  We also played some tennis ball.

A good day outside

It was a good day to spend outside with Jim.  I helped in the vineyard, then we cleaned the cars.  We also played some tennis ball.  Jim and Jean took a run but decided it was too hot to take me so I was happy to stay home and take a nap.

Two walks in one day

Today was a good day.  Its started out with waffles.  Jane and Bill came over.  Jane is Jean's cousin.  We all went to Simpson Lake.  Jim and Bill took the kayaks out on the lake.  Jean and Jane took me for a walk on the trail around the lake.  It was a beautiful day.  Then after dinner Jean took me for another walk in the neighborhood where I saw my friends Maddie and Sammie.

Going Visiting

We went to Charlie's house for dinner.  Jen and John live with Charlie.  Charlie has fish in a TV in the living room.  They swim around.  Our fish are outside in a pond.  I like Charlie's house because we are allowed to play tennis ball inside.  John and Jen threw the ball for us and I always got to it first.  We played outside for a while too.

Taking a Walk

After dinner we went for a nice walk on the trials.  I like to stop and sniff.  There are a kinds of good smells on the trail. 

Waiting for Jim to get home

This is what I do when Jim is at work.  I watch out the window for him.  I could hang out with Jean in her office but I prefer to watch out the window for Jim.  Then as soon as I see his car I squeal and run to the door.

Today Jim had a man come for a portrait.  He put me in the office with Jean and closed the door.  I like to help with photography.  I always make people smile and I share my toys.  I stood and stared at the door the whole time.  Jean just typed away at her computer. 

Softball

Today was Jim's last softball game.  I am his number one fan.  I just love Jim.  I watch him.  I am happy when he comes in from the field because he is closer to me.  After the game he threw my tennis ball and I got to run in the outfield.

Helping Jean in her office

Today I helped Jean in her office all day.  Jim went to work and the Beer and Wine Store.  I slept on my pillow for a while then there was some thunder so I stayed close to Jean.  Jean fed me dinner then I watched out my window for Jim to come home.  As soon as I saw his car come up the driveway I squealed and ran to the door.  After dinner Jim and Jean took me for a walk through the neighberhood.

No waffles

Today is Sunday.  Sunday is waffles day but this morning Jim and Jean had bagels.  I much prefer waffles.  I helped Jim outside for a while.  I always help Jim and Jean feed the fish.  I watch them swim and sometimes I drop my ball into the pond.  I like to get a drink out of the pond also.  Jean brushed my hair and threw the ball for me.

A new trail

Since we couldn't go camping this weekend, we decided to go for a hike.  We went to Rockwood Reservation.  They used to have a silly rule where dog's were not allowed.  They changed theirs rule so now I can go hike there.  It was my first time on those trails.  We hiked the trail in the trees.

I led the way.  It was a nice day for a hike.  I got to stop and get a drink from a creek.  Then I got to get a drink from a spring.

The camping trip that wasn't

Friday Jim and I spent the whole day packing the camper and getting ready for a weekend camp.  I was so excited.  We were going to Indiana.  We packed my bed and my food and my balls.  We loaded up and took off.  The Envoy started making odd noises somewhere in Illinois.  We pulled off at a gas station and Jim made some phone calls and Jean took me for a little walk.  Then we turned around and headed back to Missouri.  We pulled of again and had to go to a GMC dealer.  They could not fix the truck until Monday so we were stuck there.  Jean's Mom and Dad came to pick us up.  I was very good in the back of their car.  I was sad that we couldn't go camping.

Busy Day

I have been busy all day helping Jim outside.  He needs me to help him with all his work. 

My New Ball

Today a box came in the mail.  It was from TJ and Pat.  They sent me a new ball that glows in the dark.  I carried it around the house.  I played with it.  I hugged it.  I love my new ball.  Then I started to chew on it and Jean took it away because didn't want me to chew it up.  I love getting new toys.

Thunder

This morning there was some thunder.  When there is thunder I like being very close to Jean.  I like to be right at her feet.  If she moved I get up and move to where her feet go so I can be close.

Lazy Day

Today Jim had to go take pictures or something because he put on his good pants and shoes and left the house.  I don't like it when he leaves.  Jean just sits at her desk all day and I am bored.  Jean did take me outside and brush my hair then we played some tennis ball.

Back to Softball

Today I had to help Jim in the vineyard.  For some reason he does not like deer in the vineyard.  I don't mind the deer and they don't mind me.  Jim's knee is all better so he went to play softball.  Jean and I went to watch.  I like going to softball games.

Fun on the Farm

On Friday we packed up the Envoy and headed to the farm.  Jim put the seat down behind his seat and put my bed there.  I could lay down and nap or look out the window.

There are many good things about the farm - Rusty lives there, canned dog food, waffles and grandma and grandpa.  I like going to the farm.

Rusty is my half-brother.  I think we have the same mother but different fathers.  Rusty and I played chase around the yard.  It is one of my favorite games.

Then I helped Grandpa and Tom in the shed.  They are working on a tractor.  I helped to supervise them.

We drove home then we unpacked.  Next Jim and Jean took me for a five mile run on the trail.  I got to take a break half way and take a swim in the river.  When we got home we went out to check the vineyard and garden.

 Next I had to have a bath.  Now I am clean and fluffy.

I was so tired I needed a nap.

I like to be outside with Jim

This morning Jim got up and put his shoe and pants on to go to work.  Not to work outside but the kind of work where he leaves the house and doesn't take me.  I laid on my bed all morning a pouted.  But he came home and I got to spend the afternoon outside helping him.  I'd rather be outside with Jim.

 

Finishing the Steps

Yesterday we did all the steps except for the last stone.  Jim had to go buy one more.  Today we finished the steps.  Now we have nice new steps on the side of the house.

I don't watch out the window for TJ and Pat anymore.  I did for a couple of days but now it's back to just Jim and Jean.  I love Jim and Jean because they take very good care of me.
