Early Christmas

Jen and John will be on an adventure in the Grand Canyon on Christmas so we celebrated early.  They spent the night so we could have a whole day of fun!  The day started out with waffles.  Charlie and I got our own plate.

Next we opened presents.  I got a new toy and a bone I ate immediately.  The humans went on a run.  It was wet and messy so Charlie and I stayed home.  Then we helped TJ and Pat do some exercises.

There was a big meal then we took a family picture. 

A fun day

The day started out like any other.  Then TJ and Pat came.  I never know about them.  They just drop me off and leave then show up without warning.  I am so happy to see them.  Then Jen and John and Charlie came.  Charlie and I each got a new rawhide to chew on.  Charlie likes to lay on my bed.  It's okay with me because I like sharing.  Charlie can eat a rawhide very fast.  It take me longer.

Jen and John will be in the Grand Canyon on Christmas so we are celebrating early.  Everyone got to open one present.  I got a new collar.  I am so handsome.

Waiting

I spend a lot of my life waiting.  In the morning I wait for Jim and Jean to get up and feed me breakfast.  When Jim goes to work I wait for him to come home.  I wait for Jean to finish her work so she can take me for a walk.  I wait for my dinner.  I wait for someone to throw the tennis ball for me.  I wait for TJ and Pat to come back and get me.   I am very patient.

My Favorite Window

There is a window in the house that is just the right height for me to look out.  I watch for my people to come home when they leave.  I look for cars that come to visit.  Today I saw 25 turkeys through my window. 

Today Jean took me for a run on the trails.  We went in the afternoon when she was done working but before it got dark.  There weren't many people in the park so I didn't have to be on the leash.  It was fabulous.  I got to sniff around then sprint to catch up.  Then I would run ahead a bit and sniff around until Jean caught up.  I know not to be too far away from Jean so it worked out great.  Tonight I was so tired I put myself to bed early.

Watching Jim Eat Cookies

Can you believe that Jim eats cookies in front of me and doesn't share?  Well he does give me a bite sometimes.

Christmas Presents

There is a tree in the house that is decorated with ornaments.  There are lots of presents under it.  I don't mess with the presents.  Today Jim thoughts I was sniffing the presents and trying to figure out which one was mine.  But Jean came in and saw that my ball had rolled behind the Christmas Tree.  I don't care about the presents but I wanted my ball.  I waited patiently until Jean got it for me.  I didn't mess with the presents.

Christmas is in the air

Jean went into the kitchen and said she was making cookies.  I know what a cookie is and I was excited.  I stayed very close to her in the kitchen and waited and waited for a cookie.  She was mixing and stirring and putting things in the oven.  It smelled good.  Jim helped himself to some cookies.  I stayed close to Jean waiting for a cookie.  Finally she figured it out and gave me a dog cookie.  I didn't get to try the ones she was making but that was okay with me because I like my dog cookies.
