Working Hard

Today I helped Jim in the vineyard again.  He finished trimming his grapevines.  He had a photography customer come for a  portrait.  I had to help Jean in her office while the customer was here.  I don't like closed doors.  I whined because I wanted to help Jim.  I am a good photography assistant.  Then I went for a four mile run on the trail with Jean and Jim.  I am exhausted.

Quality Time

Today I spent quality time with my humans.  We were together all day.  After breakfast we got in the car.  I like to rest my chin on the back seat headrest.

We drove to the Rock Hollow Trail and took a nice long walk.

I like to get a drink from the creek.

When we got home we got home we had lunch.  Then Jim brushed me and trimmed my long hairs.  I am beautiful.  My butt hair and ear hair gets too long.

Then Jim and I spent the whole afternoon outside working on the vineyard.  Jim was trimming the vines.

Then we had barbecue pork for dinner.  I got some scraps.  It was delicious.  It was a good day with my humans.

Home Alone

Today Jim and Jean went for a race.  They gave me breakfast then left me home alone.  They came home after lunch and hung out a while then left me home alone again when they went out to dinner.  That is okay because Jim brought me home some pork chops.

Exercise

Jim and Jean make sure I get exercise everyday.  Today I exercised in the basement with Jim.  Then Jim and Jean took me for a walk before dinner.  Jim and Jean exercise every day too.

A good life

All my days are good.  Some days I work very hard.  Other days I take lots of naps.  Every day I get breakfast and dinner plus a treat at lunch.  Jim sneaks me some of his snacks too.  I get lots of love everyday from Jim and Jean.  I get to take walks and chase balls.  Today we took and run and I got to play with my friend Sammy.  I have a life that is good.

Snow

We woke to a beautiful snow this morning.  I love snow.  It means I get to spend lots of time outside with Jim.  We spent all morning outside shoveling the driveway.  There were a couple of trees that fell down.  We spent the afternoon cutting up the trees and branches.  There was a tree up the road that fell.  We helped them men from the subdivision cut it up.  It was a fabulous day outside.

Helping Jim

Today I helped Jim outside.  We had to bring wood up to the house.  I did a lot of chasing the tennis ball.  I love being outside with Jim.

When we were done with our work Jim brushed my hair.

Running with Jim and Jean

Today Jim and Jean took me for a nice run.  We stopped and I got to visit with my friend Sammy.  Then I got to visit with my friend Tucker.  I also so Rosie.  I don't know Rosie very well because she is just a puppy and she is not outside a lot but she seems sweet.  I like to run through the neighborhood and stop to visit my friends.

Another nice day

Today was another nice day.  We took a long walk on the Greenway Trail from Arnold's Grove Trailhead to Simpson Park.  I let Jim lay in my ray of sunlight to take a nap.

Another Warm Day

Today was another beautiful warm day.  Jim and Jean went for a run.  I didn't get to go because the trails were muddy and they didn't want me to get all muddy.  When they came home they were tired.  Jim and I rested on the deck.

Next we had to do some work.  We cleaned out the bluebird houses.  It is time for them to start building their nests and they like to start with clean houses.

Then Jim and Jean got some adult beverages and sat by the pond.  It was warm enough for the fish to come out and swim around.  They threw the toy for me.

After playing fetch we rested on the patio.  It was a fun day.

Two Walks

Today was very warm.  It broke the record at 77 degrees.  We took two walks.  We took a short walk at lunch.  Then Jim and I washed the car.

Then before dinner we took a long walk on the Rock Hollow Trail.  I had a drink from the creek.

I like warm days and two walks.

Dog Heaven

Today is a sad day.  My friend Tiffany went to dog heaven.  I really liked Tiffany.  She had very good manners.  She was always very sweet.  We will all miss Tiffany.  But now Tiffany gets to go to dog heaven and play with Jasmine, Bugs, Rusty, Shadow, and all the good dogs. 

I can count

When there is gravy I like to lick the plates.  Jean gives me her plate.  She usually leaves me some meat too because she loves me.  Then I wait for Jim's plate.  I can count and I know there are two plates.  If I have only had one plate then I know there is one more.  I stare at Jim until I get the second plate.

Pictures don't say it all

If you could smell a picture this would be a stinky one - a very stinky one.  I like to help Jean sew but sometimes I fart.

My Day

Jim had to go take pictures today.  I do  not like it when Jim leaves for the day.  Jean just stays in her office and types on her computer all day.  I lay on my  bed and wait for Jim to come home.

But he finally came home and I was happy.  Jim and  Jean went out to dinner.  Jim ate all his dinner but Jean brought home a box.  I got some potato and meat.  They also brought home Blizzards from Dairy Queen.  Jean ate a little of hers and put the rest in the freezer.  Jim ate all of his and let me lick out the cup.  I really like Dairy Queen.

The Groundhog is Stupid

The groundhog has one job he had to do all year.  365 days in a year and he only has to work one day.  He really only has to work one hour of one day.  This year on his work day he did not see his shadow.  He declared that spring is here and he was done working for another year.  Well he got it all wrong.  It is not spring.  I don't mind because I like snow.

This morning it started snowing when we got up.  Jean went into her sewing room and did some sewing.  Jim and I took a nap so we would be rested up to shovel snow.  Jean does not have much use for naps.  She thinks it is a waste of daylight.  Jim and I are smart.  We know you should nap every chance to get so you have energy to do your work.  Jim and I work very hard.

It finally stopped snowing about noon.  We went outside to clear the driveway.  Jim drove his tractor and Jean used the shovel.  I supervised.

I love the snow.  I have a beautiful warm coat and I am very comfortable outside.

After we were done shoveling Jean went to the park for a run.  I stayed home and helped Jim bring wood up to the house.  Jim and I work hard.

My New Rawhide

I got a new rawhide for Christmas.  I ignored it for a while then I had a really good time chewing it.  Today Jean went shopping and bought me a new rawhide.  I was so happy.

Helping Jean Sew

Tonight I helped Jean sew.  I have my very own quilt that I like to lay on in Jean's sewing room.  Sometime I fart a stinky one to remind Jean that I am here.

Walking at lunchtime

Today we took a walk at lunchtime.  I like walking with Jim and Jean.  It snowed yesterday and my tummy and feet got messy.  I had to have a tummy wash when I got back.  I played with my toys.

Happy Birthday Jim

Happy Birthday to Jim.  Today it snowed.  We took a walk in the snow at lunch.  After dinner we all went outside and shoveled snow.  It was so much fun.  Jean threw my toy for me.  Then Jim had birthday cake and presents.  I can't wait until my birthday because I love presents.

A boring day

Today was mostly boring.  We had an inch of snow.  It was very cold.  Jim and Jean went for a run but left me at home.  When there is snow a big truck comes and puts chemicals and salt on the street.  They don't like me to get chemicals on my feet in case I have a cut and it would hurt me.  I went outside to help Jim get wood.  Then I helped Jean take the recycle bin to the street and get the mail.  Jim threw my toy in the basement.  Maybe it wasn't so boring after all.

My yard

I have a very important job.  I have to keep track of what is going on in my yard.  When Jean let me out tonight I ran up the hill in the front yard.  I knew there were deer and turkey there earlier.  I saw them through the window.  They were gone but I need to go sniff around because it's my job.

The Farm

Yesterday morning we packed and drove to Fredericktown.  I like going there because Grandma and Grandpa are there.  They know how to feed a dog.  I get canned dog food and waffles!  In the afternoon I had to stay outside with Lady.  It was a nice day but I wanted to be inside with my humans.  Tiffany came and brought Dale and Tammy with her.  Then the humans all went out to dinner.  They left Tiffany in the house.  They left me on the back porch and Lady was outside.  I am a very smart boy.  I opened the back door and went outside with Lady.  I was good and stayed by the house until the humans came home.  Then I got to come inside where I belonged.  I slept on the porch.  They locked the door this time so couldn't get out.  Grandpa has a new donkey named Amos.  Now there are two donkeys and one horse there.  Jane is the horse.  She has a pet donkey.  Granny calls it HeeHaw.  Jean calls it Tarzan because it goes with Jane.  Poor Amos need a friend.  Amos stepped on my foot.  I yelped but I'm okay.  Today we got in the car and came home.

Larry

Larry came today to see me.  Larry is my friend that came and hunted.  He can't hunt any more because hunting season is over.  Larry is a quiet hunter.  He does not shoot a gun.  I do not like guns because they are noisy and they scare me.  Larry sits quietly in the tree and has a bow and arrows.  He is a very quiet hunter.  I like Larry.

Company

Tonight Charlie came to see us.  He brought Jen with him because he can't drive and it's too far to walk.  John was out of town so he couldn't come.  We helped Jean and Jen in the sewing room then they went home.  It was good to see Charlie.

My Day

Today I helped Jim exercise again.  He threw the toy so I got some exercise in myself.  We did not go for a walk or run at lunch because Jean had conference calls.  Then before dinner Jean wanted to go for a walk.  Jim said, "It is could and windy outside".  Jean said, "That is why we have down coats and wool hats."  We went for a walk and it was wonderful.  A little cold air never bothered me.

Helping Jim Exercise

Jim likes to exercise on his exercise machines in the basement.  I always help him.  I bring him a ball or toy so he can throw it and exercise his arms.  Today Jim and Jean took a run and left me at home.  I was very sad.  I watched them out my window when they ran up the hill.  It rained and the floors were just mopped and they didn't want me to get all dirty.  I watched out the window until they came home to play with me.

Cleaning Day

Today Jim mopped the floor.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  I stayed outside because he does not like puppy footprints all over the clean floor.  We took a walk and lunchtime.
