Whipped Cream

Jim likes some whipped cream on his pie.  Sometimes he puts a little on his finger and I get to lick it off.  This is a special treat for me.  I really like whipped cream.  I don't get it very often.

Looking out my window

I spend a lot of time looking out my window.  My window is by my bed in the kitchen.  It is just the right height for me to look out.  I look for people who would come up the driveway.  I look for deer and turkeys.  But most of all I look to TJ and Pat.  TJ and Pat always come when the Christmas trees is up.  I am waiting for them.

Another Run

This morning we went for another run.  Today we went to the Rock Hollow Trail because it rained yesterday and the trail is paved so we would not get muddy.  We saw Kathy again with her three dogs.  Plus Kathy's daughter was in town with her two dogs.  So I greeted all five dogs while the humans talked.  Jim and Jean went out for dinner so I got my dinner early.  I really like when my dinner is early.

Putting up the Christmas Tree

Today it rained all day.  We put up the Christmas tree.  It was a mess trying to sort out the lights.  It was very hard work.  The tree is up but there are not any presents.  I know I will get presents because I have been a very good boy.

Thanksgiving

Today we had Thanksgiving.  We had 35 people and 3 dogs.  It was a fabulous day.  Charlie and I got a whole plate of delicious leftovers.  The kids threw the ball for me. 

Thanksgiving Eve

This morning Jim and Jean both worked very hard cleaning house.  I do not like house cleaning day.  I do not like the loud vacuum.  I do not like the smell of cleaning solutions.  I rang my bell and Jim tied me outside.  Jim and Jean took me for a nice walk in the afternoon.  I met a new puppy in the neighborhood named Rosie.  Then I had to have a bath.  Tomorrow is a holiday and I need to be clean and fluffy.

Jean's Vacation

Jean is not working again today.  Sometimes when she is on vacation we go somewhere and sometimes we stay home.  This time we are staying home.  Jim and Jean sleep in and my breakfast is late.  Sometimes they sleep until 7 am.  I like it when they get up early.

Today we went to the trail for a run.  I am helping Jim and Jean get ready for their races.

On Tuesday the recycle bin needs to be taken down to the street so the truck can pick it up early in the morning.  We do the same thing with the trash on Wednesday.  I always help Jim.  I go out with him and watch him walk down the driveway.  I stay up by the house.

A nice Monday

Today Jean took a day off work.  Jim and Jean left me at home and went to the zoo and Ikea.  They did not even bring me home a meatball.  Then they took me for a walk in the neighborhood.  All my friends were outside.  It was a nice day.

Training for Races

Jim and Jean run races.  I am their coach.  I go running with them when they train.  I don't run in the hot weather because it is just too hot.  Today it was 40 degrees which is just perfect for running.  We went to the trail and ran.  We saw Kathy and Jeff their with their three dogs.  Jim and Jean talked to Kathy and Jeff.  I got to visit with their dogs.  First their is Tyler.  He is an old golden retriever.  He is very calm and sweet.  Everyone loves Tyler.  Then there is Buddy.  Buddy is a springer spaniel.  He is also a nice dog.  Then there is Maisey.  Maisey is a yellow lab puppy.  She is like a tornado.  She has lots and lots of energy.  I had fun visiting with the dogs.

Starving

Today Jim and Jean went for some wine tasting.  Then they went out to dinner.  Well, my dinner time came and went and they were not here to feed me.  I was starving.  They finally came home and fed me my dinner.  I like my dinner promptly at five.  I do not like a late dinner.

Fixing the Car

Today I helped Jim fix the car.  He put new brakes on.  Here is how you fix a car:
1.  Go to Auto Zone and buy brakes
2.  Take the old brakes off
3.  Try to put the new brakes on
4.  Say a bad word
5.  Watch a video on the computer
6.  Go back to Auto Zone and get a tool
7.  Put the new brakes on.
8.  Take the tool back the Auto Zone.

This is hard work.  I was very tired.

Cooler Weather

The weather is finally cooler.  I love the cooler weather.  It is just right for a dog with a beautiful coat.  I can't wait for it to snow.

Doggie Bags

A doggie bag is a bag they give you at the restaurant to bring your leftover food home for your dog.  Jim went out for lunch today.  He brought home a doggie bag of fried chicken.  I could smell it the minute he came in.  Do you know what?  Jim and Jean ate that chicken for dinner.  It was supposed to be for me - the doggie.  I did get some scraps.

More Rain

Today there was more rain.  Lots more rain and some thunders.  I did not get any work done today.  I am ready for some sunshine.

Rainy Day

Today it was raining when we woke up.  It rained all day long.  Rainy days are boring days.  I caught up on my naps.

Traveling

TJ and Pat have been travelling all over the country the last three years.  This is why I am living with Jim and Jean.  They send me lots of post cards.  They have been to Texas and the beach.  Here are all the reasons they should take me with them when the travel:
1.  I would guard their car when they are gone.
2.  I am very good in the car.
3.  I would keep them warm in their tent.
4.  Everyone loves me and they would want to come to their booth and learn about Leave No Trace.  I would increase business.
5.  I would give them kisses every morning and make them happy.

Another Nice Day

Today I had to help Jim fix the fence.  The stupid deer must have run right into the fence and bent the pole.  The fence is very important.  It keeps the deer from eating the vineyard.  I do not go near the fence because it has electricity in it.  I am  very smart and keep my distance.  The deer are not so smart.

All day outside

Today Jim and I worked outside all day.  We worked outside all morning then came in for lunch.  Then we worked outside all afternoon.  I am exhausted.

A nice fall day

Today was a nice fall day.  It was  windy but I don't mind the wind.  I helped Jim again outside.  He is making piles and piles of wood.  I think he is ready for a cold winter.

In the afternoon Jim went out for lunch.  I was home with Jean.  I could go hang out with her in her office.  When she is working she just types away on her computer.  She won't throw my ball.  I like to stay on by bed in the kitchen and watch out the window for Jim.

More work

I helped Jim outside all morning.  He is still working on his wood pile.  I love the cooler fall weather and working outside with Jim.

Working Hard

I helped Jim outside all day.  Jim is working on his wood pile.  I was enjoying the beautiful day.  I love helping Jim. 

Larry

I have a friend named Larry.  He is really Jim's friend.  He comes to our house with his bow and arrow and sits in a tree.  He thinks he is going to shoot a deer.  He sees lots of deer but none of them get close enough to shoot at.  I like Larry.  When he comes to talk to us I bring him a tennis ball.

A long hike

Today Jim and Jean took me for a long hike on the new trail.  It was a beautiful day to be hiking. 

Busy Saturday

Charlie spent the night last night.  This means that Jim and Jean slept with their door closed.  I slept in the hall outside their door and so did Charlie.  They got up early to go for a race.  In the afternoon we played outside.  Then Jen came and picked up Charlie.  Jim and Linda and Jane and Bill came over and we all had a fire in the fire pit.  The humans ate some-mores.  I did not get any.

Jim has two hands so he can pet two dogs at the same time.

Watching Charlie

This morning we got up early while it was still dark.  Then Jen came and dropped off Charlie.  Jen and John have to go to Jefferson City to coach their cross country teams at the state meet.  I am dog sitting Charlie.  First we helped Jim with his exercises.

Then Jim had some photography customers come for pictures.  Jim put Charlie and me in Jean's office and closed the door.  I did not like this much.  I like helping Jim with pictures.  I stared at the door and whined.

We helped Jim outside all afternoon.  Jim cut firewood.  Charlie tried to catch a chipmunk in the wood pile.  I supervised.  We had early dinner because Jim and Jean went out.  I had to watch Charlie by myself.  Charlie is easy to watch.  He was tired after spending all afternoon outside.  Then Jim and Jean came home and gave us a treat and it was bed time.

Rainy Day

Today there was rain.  There was not thunder so I was not scared but we did not get to work outside.
I just helped Jim in his office.

I kept a good eye on Jim to make sure that he was not working without me.  We had a conversation about dinner time.  This daylight saving time being over is no good.  My dinner is an hour late every night.  I try to let Jim know I am starving.

Then I watched Jim take a nap. 

More Work

I helped Jim outside all afternoon.  I work so hard.  Then Jean played with me in the basement.  I have a good life here but I am waiting for TJ and Pat to come and get me. 

Clock changes

Jim and Jean changed their clocks this weekend.  What this means is that it is almost dark when I get my dinner.  They do this a couple times a year.  I am starving by the time they give me my dinner. 

I spent all afternoon outside with Jim.  I was starving when we came in.  I wish they would change their clocks back.

Cleaning Day

Monday  is cleaning day.  Cleaning day is boring for a dog because cleaning is not really dog's work.  Then in the afternoon I went outside and helped Jim.  He was painting the cracks in the driveway.  It was a nice day.

Waffles for Breakfast

Today we had waffles for breakfast.  We have not had waffles for a long time.  Jean can never finish all of hers so she gives the rest to me.  I just love waffles.
