They're Back

TJ and Pat came back today.  I just knew they would come back.  I was so happy to see them I wiggled and wiggled my butt.  They always play with me.  Then they went out to dinner and left me with Jim and Jean.  That's okay.  I love Jim and Jean.

Back to regular days

TJ and Pat drove away and left me here.  I am back to sleeping in the kitchen and playing ball with Jim and Jean.

My People

Pat and TJ are my people.  I love them.  When they come to see me they play with me and pet me and sleep with me at night.  Today TJ brushed my hair and cut my dreadlocks.

Then we played a while.  TJ and Pat packed up their car, gave me some hugs and drove away.  They took some bags with them but I am not worried because they left a lot of stuff here in the guest room.  They forgot one important thing - me!  I am sure they will come back for me.

Lots of hugs and kisses

TJ and Pat are here.  I got to snuggle with them all night.  I got lots of hugs and kisses from them.  We all love each other.  TJ and Pat love Jim and Jean but they love me best!  Today they got in their car and drove away.  I hope they come back soon.

A big surprise

Today Jim and Jean got up very early before the sun.  I had early breakfast.  Jean went for a race and Jim went to take pictures.  Then Jean came home and gave me a shower and brushed my fur.  Then Jim came home.  I had my dinner.  We were watching the cardinal game and you will never, ever, ever, guess who came.  TJ and Pat!  I was so excited I wagged my butt so much.  I have not seen them all year.   I had so happy.

A new battery

Today I helped Jim put a new battery in the Envoy.  He was working in the garage.  It was too nice of a day to be in the garage so I stayed outside.  I like helping Jim.

Jean washed the sheets in the guest room.  I think someone is coming.  I really like having company.  I wonder who is coming.

Plantiing Tulips

Today I worked very hard.  I helped Jim plant tulip bulbs.  This requires lots of digging.  I am not allowed to dig so I let Jim do all the digging.  Tulips bulbs are planted in the ground.  We have to wait all through fall and winter.  Then in the spring they will come up and make pretty flowers.  This will make Jean happy.  I am so tired after working hard all afternoon.

Company

Yesterday Jean's mom came to visit.  We sat out on the deck and Jim barbecued.  Then Jean and her mom went to their quilt club meeting.  Jim and I stayed home and watched the Cardinals game.  I like it when Jean's mom comes.  She pets me and tells me I am beautiful.

Waiting for Jim

When Jim leaves I wait for him to get home.  When he comes home I grab a toy and follow him around the house.  I love Jim.

Another hike

Today we took a long hike on the new trail.  It was a beautiful day.  I like it now that the weather is cooler.

The Most Beautiful Dog on the Trail

Today Jim and Jean got up early and went to take some pictures. They were not gone very long.  They took me for a nice long walk in Castlewood.  It was a beautiful day.  There were lots of people and dogs but I was the most beautiful dog on the trail.

We saw this dog.  She was old but she was pretty.  She was not a pretty as me.

We had a very nice walk.  I love going hiking with Jim and Jean.  TJ and Pat used to take me hiking all the time but now I go with Jim and Jean.

Helping Jim Outside

Today I helped Jim outside.  He was working on his shed.  I chased the tennis ball and enjoyed being outside with Jim.  Jean was inside typing on her computer as usual.

Waiting for Jim

Today Jim went to St. Genevieve to pick grapes and Charleyville Vinyard.  He didn't take me because he carpooled with his friends.  I like picking grapes.  I had to stay home with Jean.  I love Jean but all she does is type on her computer all day.  She takes me outside and throws the tennis ball occasionally but mostly I lay on my bed and wait for Jim.  When Jim gets home I go to the back door and wait for him to open it.

Jim loves he.  He brought me home a bite of pork steak!

Exhausted

Today I helped Jim outside.  He mowed and trimmed the grass.  Then after dinner we took a walked through the neighborhood.  I am so tired I put myself to bed early.

Christmas

I have a Santa toy.  I got it for Christmas.  Jim and Jean had it put away in my box but I found it and I have been carrying it around the house.  It has a plastic bottle inside so it makes a wonderful sound when I chew on it.  I love Christmas because TJ and Pat always spend Christmas with me and I get presents.  I hope Christmas comes soon

NIce day for a hike

Today Jim and Jean took me to Castlewood State Park for a hike.  It was a wonderful cool day.  Jim and Jean wore long sleeves at first but then took their long sleeve off.  We hike up the bluff and then I got to take a swim in the creek.

Too much kettle corn

I told you last night that Jim and Jean took me to a concert and shared their kettle corn with me.  I love kettle corn.  It is so tasty.  Do you know what happens when I eat too much kettle corn?  I puke.  No more kettle corn for me.  I still get hot dogs though.

Going to the Concert

Tonight Jim and Jean took me to a concert in Wildwood.  There were lots of people and kids and dogs.  Of course I was the most beautiful dog.  There were hot dogs and kettle corn.  I got some snacks.  It was a nice cool night.  Jim and Jean wore long pants and jackets.  I had fun.

My day

This morning I helped Jim outside.  He was painting the cracks in the driveway.  I was supervising. 

This afternoon there was thunder.  When there is thunder I usually go find my chicken.  My chicken makes me feel safer.  Today was a two chicken day.

Where I Sleep

I have a nice bed in the kitchen.  I usually sleep there.  But in the summer the floor is cooler than my bed.  So sometimes I sleep on the floor.  As long as I am sleeping on the floor I might as well sleep closer to Jim and Jean.  I sleep in the hallway outside their bedroom a lot of night.

New Friends

Today we walked in the neighborhood.  I like walking in the neighborhood because I get to see my friends.  There is a new family that just moved in.  They have two dogs that I met today.  Otto is a boxer and Seguro is a Doberman.  They are both very nice dogs.  They don't have an electric fence yet so they come out to the street to greet me.  We all sniffed each other's privates and greeted each other.  I like my new friends.

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day.  This means we work hard.  I had a big day.

First Jim and Jean got up before the sun.  It was really dark outside.  This means I got to have my breakfast early.  I like early breakfast.

Next Jim and Jean went for a race.  They ran really fast because they were not gone long.  They came home and took showers.  Then we all got in the car.  I didn't know where were going but it smelled like the country.

We went to Old Farm Vineyards to pick grapes.  I have been there before.  There were lots of dogs and people. 

Jim's friends Steve and Darlene own this vineyard.  It is huge.  It is so much bigger than our little vineyard.  It was a hot day  I found shade in the vineyard.  My friend Sparky was there.  His human, Dan gave me water.

They rang a bell and everyone went to the house for lunch.  Jim and Jean left me outside.  There was a bucket of water for the dogs.  But then someone let me in the house.  Do you know what was in the house?  There were ham sandwiches!  There was also air conditioning.  I got to stay in the house.  Jim and Jean shared their sandwiches with me and I got to cool off.  After lunch we went back out to the vineyard to cut more grapes.  I worked so hard. 

 

At the edge of the vineyard there was a raccoon that was in a trap.  It was a live animal trap so it was not hurt but it was mad.  I did not get close to the raccoon.

 

After all the grapes were picked we went home and Jim picked the grapes in his vineyard.  He only had a few grapes so it did not take him long.

I am tired after my busy Labor Day.

Late Dinner

Today Jim and Jean went to a party.  They were gone past my dinner time.  I like my dinner promptly at 5:00.  If they don't feed them then I let them know by staring at them and whining.  If they are not here I can't let them know I am starving.  They did come home and feed me my dinner.  Now I am happy.

Dog Days

They call these hot summer days Dog Days.  I do not know why.  I prefer the air conditioning.  I helped Jim outside for a while but it was just too hot so we came inside.  I am so glad we have air conditioning.

My toys

I have a toy box.  I have lots of toys.  I get my toys out of my toy box and I carry them around then I leave them somewhere and get another toy.  I just love my toys.

More Work

Today I helped Jim outside.  He was painting the driveway and I was playing tennis ball.  After dinner we went for a walk in the neighborhood.  It got to see my friends.

Working with Jim

Today I helped Jim outside.  He was messing with the fence.  He decided the electric fence is not strong enough to keep the deer out.  It is strong enough to keep me out.  We played some ball.  It's getting hot again but I still like playing outside.

First of the Month

Today is the first day of September.   That means Jim puts flea and tick stuff on my back and Jean gives me a heart worm pill.

Jim and Jean took me for a nice walk after dinner on the trail.  I got to get a drink from the river.
