My new toy

TJ and Pat got up very early this morning and packed up and left.  I think they will be gone a long time.  But I know they will come back for me some day.  They bought me a new toy.  It is the biggest toy I have ever had.  Its a crocodile or an alligator or a crocogator.  I just love it.  It's head squeaks.  I carry it all around the house.

Today Jim and Jean went to another party.  They have been going to parties all weekend.  I had my dinner late. They took me for a walk when they got home.  I saw my friend Maddie the great dane.

A walk in the rain

This morning TJ got up and put on a dress and left for a party.  Jim, Jean and Pat took me to the trail for a walk.  We heard thunder and turned around to come home.  We do not like hiking in storms.

Ice Bucket

The humans have gone crazy!  They are throwing buckets of ice on each other.  Then they squeal and laugh.  I have witnessed this several times or I wouldn't believe it.  I prefer to play fetch with the tennis ball and get a cool drink from the pond.

More Thunder

This afternoon there was more thunder.  Thunder two days in a row is just too much thunder.  I hid in Jim and Jean's closet.  Then Jim and Jean left.  The storm stopped and TJ and Pat came back.  The they took me for a nice walk in the neighborhood.

Dog's Day

Yesterday was National Dog's Day.  It was a day just for me because I am a dog and I live in the nation.  It was a very good day because TJ and Pat came back to see me.  They are already packing to leave again.
Yesterday Jean's computer died so I couldn't use it to post my blog.  I am using Jim's computer today.
Today there was thunder.  I do not like thunder but TJ and Pat were here to hug me and make me feel better.

Cleaning Day

Jim and Jean like their house nice and clean.  On cleaning day I have to stay on my quilt when the floor is mopped.  It's too hot to be outside anyway.  Boring.

Hot August Days

Yesterday I did not write a blog because the internet was down.  I could have used Jean's phone but my paws have problems typing on that little screen.  Yesterday Jean went for a run and I helped Jim outside.  It was very hot.  I came in the air conditioning to cool off.  I like my air conditioning.  This morning Jean took me to the trail for a morning walk.  It was hot but she let me cool off in the river.  Then when we got home she hosed me off.

Hot weather

This morning we got up early and went for a nice walk on the trail.  We had to go early before it got hot.  I like to stick my head in the weeds and sniff around.  Sometimes green things stick to my face.  That's okay because when we got home Jean brushed me and cleaned me up.  I helped Jim outside in the morning then spent the rest of the day in the air conditioning.

Hot Weather

Today Jim went to play golf.  I was sad because I knew that he would be gone all morning and Jean would be working at her desk as usual.  At lunch time Jean always takes me outside to feed the fish and then we play some tennis ball.  Jim came home and we went outside and stacked a wood pile.  Then Jim and Jean went for a race.  It is much too hot for me to run.  I stayed home in the air conditioning.

Up early

This morning we got up early.  Jim and Jean took me for a walk in the neighborhood after breakfast and before Jean started working.  They wanted to walk before it got too hot.  It was a hot one today.  Jim is staining the deck.  I helped.  Tonight there is thunder.  I walk around the house with a toy in my house and cry because I am scared.  Jean tells me it's all okay but I am scared.

Steak

TJ and Pat left today.  We had steak for dinner.   TJ and Pat don't eat steak.  I like steak.   I always get the scraps.  Steak is my very favorite food.  I will do all my trick for steak.  Sometimes I get so excited I just want the steak without the trick.  I have a lot of tricks:  sit, lay down, bow, play dead, roll over, shake, high five.

I helped Jim outside in the vineyard all afternoon.  Those pesky deer tried to tear the fence down.  Jim had to fix it.  Jim does not like the deer in his vineyard.

My people

My people are here working.  Jean is working at her desk.  Jim is working at his desk.  TJ and Pat have their computers set up in the kitchen and are working.  I am laying in the hallway and keeping track of every one.

Hard at Work

I went to Illinois with TJ and Pat.  We had to go and work.  We camped last night in the tent.

Today we set up a booth and told people all about Leave no Trace.  I helped.

It was very hard work.  I needed a nap in the car on the way home.

Going to Work

I am going to work with TJ and Pat.  We are going to teach people about leave no trace.  It is very, very important work.  We are teaching people how to take care of our earth.  Here is what I know about leave no trace:  I poop.  My people pick up my poop and throw it away.  Clean planet!  I am so happy I get to go with TJ and Pat.

Ice Cream

I have been on a diet all year.  I have lost a lot of weight and I am slim and trim and beautiful.  Once in a while I get a treat.  Tonight I got to lick the ice cream bowl.  The humans to not leave much in their ice cream bowls but I still love to clean them out.

They're back

TJ and Pat were here last week.  Then they packed up their car and left.  But last night they came back.  I was so happy.  TJ and Pat are my people and I love it when they come to see me.  This morning they took me to Castlewood for a nice run.  We had so much fun.  Tonight Jean took me for a walk.  I got to see my friend Sammy then I was ready to go home.  I dragged Jean home when we got to our street.  I had enough walking.  I was tired and I needed a nap.

More work with Jim

It was another day working outside with Jim.  We have the house washed.  Now we are power washing the fence.  I loving spending the day outside with Jim.

More Work

I spent the day outside with Jim.  Days outside with Jim are the best.  He is still power washing the house.  I get the tennis ball and enjoy the nice day.

A walk and cockleburrs

This morning we got up and had waffles.  It must be Sunday.  Then Jim and Jean took me for a nice long walk.  The trail is nice and wide but I like to sniff around in the weeds.  I got cockleburrs in my fur and Jim pulled them off.

It was a nice day for a walk.  We walked past lots of people who thought I was beautiful, nice, gorgeous and sweet.

Sometimes I like to stop and smell the flowers.

My Saturday

Today Jean went for a long run.  I still cannot go running with her because it is too hot for a dog with a beautiful fur coat.  Besides my foot has been a little sore.  My ear was sore but Jim washed it out and puts medicine in it so it is much better.  This left me with a boring day.

Working outside

Today I spent the whole day outside working with Jim.  We are power washing the house.  We came in for dinner and Jim took a shower and settled on the couch to watch the Cardinal game.  I was ready to curl up and take a nap but then Jean wanted me to take her for a walk.  We walked through the neighborhood and saw my friends.  When I am outside I get lots of drinks from the pond.

The red box

My treats used to come in a green box.  I was always happy when Jim bought the green box of treats.  Jim went shopping and bought me treats and they were in a red box.  I don't see colors the same way that humans do so I don't really care what color the box is as long as there are treats inside.  They changed the box but the treats are the same.  I like my treats.

Outside all day

Today I was outside with Jim all day.  We were power washing the house.  It was a  hot day.  When Jean came out to check on us I tried to sneak back in the house with here.  Sometimes I like my air conditioning.  She made me stay outside to help Jim.  Jim made sure I got lots of drinks of water so I didn't get too hot.

Goodbye

This morning TJ and Pat packed up, gave me a hug and drove off.  I am not sure if they are gone for a long time or a short time.  You just never know with them.  They left a bunch of stuff here but they always leave a bunch of stuff here.  They left something very important here.  Do you know what that is?  Me!

After that I came in the house with Jim and Jean and took a nap with my chicken.  I love my chicken.

Lots of Love

Yesterday I had lots of love from Mike and Debbie (Pat's parents).  They don't have a dog but they have dog treats for me.  I don't get to go inside their house because they have cats.  They are worried that the cats would scratch my nose.  I like going to their house and playing in the yard.  I also had love from Pat's grandparents.  Then TJ and Pat spent the night with Mike and Debbie and I went home with Jim and Jean.  TJ and Pat came back this afternoon and gave me lots of loving.  Jean took me for a walk but I wanted to come home and get more love from TJ and Pat so I pulled her home.

Going Visiting

Today I am going visiting with TJ and Pat.  We are going to see Pat's parents and grandparents.  I am so excited to ride in their car and go see people.

They're Here!

This morning Jean went for a run.  Jim and I spent the whole morning washing the cars inside and out.  It was very hard work.  Then Jean came home and brushed me and threw the tennis ball.  Guess who came driving up the driveway?  The Leave No Trace car.  And guess who was in it?  TJ and Pat!.  I was soooooo happy to see them.  I wiggled and wiggled.

They had presents for me.  A new collar and leash.  Now I am even more beautiful.

I helped them unpack their car.  They live in their car so they have lots and lots of stuff.  I am so happy they are here.  I hope they stay a long time.

Getting Ready

We are getting ready for company.  I know this because the sheets are being washed in the guest room.  I hope that whoever comes want to play with me.  I love having company.
